Q&A
Home town | I am from Beaumont, TX, but Atlanta is home.
Single or Married | Single
What is your favorite Atlanta hangout on weekdays? Weekends? | On weekdays and weekends, I enjoy Del Frisco’s, the patio at Rathbun’s on the Atlanta Beltline, the Livingston, and H. Harper Station
What is your signature look? | Conservative contemporary. Two-button suit with flat front pants, white or light blue shirt, and wing tip shoes.
Do you sacrifice style over comfort? | I think that to a certain extent, we all sacrifice style over comfort. It would be really comfortable to wear a t-shirt, shorts and sandals every day. But, that is not feasible for most of us. I am, however, very comfortable in a suit and I really enjoy wearing a nice suit.
What is your favorite piece of clothing? | A nice tie
What do you never leave home without? | I never leave home without putting on a small dab of cologne. Two of my favorites are Gucci’s Guilty Intense and Ralph Lauren’s Polo Black.
Who is your personal style icon and why? | The Rat Pack. They took understated, minimal classic fashion and made it cool - nice blue suit with a white shirt and skinny tie; a classic tuxedo. Their vintage looks stand the test of time. They would wear a suit or a tuxedo to perform at a night club and towards the end of the night they would untie their bowtie or tie, which was a very small and simple thing, but they made it trendy and popular. People, including myself, still do that to this day.
What is your signature piece of style advice for men? | Fashion changes so often, so I would encourage you to find your personal preferences as the foundation of your own style. Work with your own personal preferences. Get advice from experts, but style doesn’t require you to be someone you are not.
